Why was it banned/challenged?
This book is often banned under the belief that it teaches critical race theory. Since critical race theory is a college-age concept, it is definitely not being introduced to infants in a board book.
Senator Ted Cruz famously demanded that then-Supreme Court Nominee Katanji Jackson Brown explain why the book was available in the private school library for which she served on the board.
